DIRECTORS LAUNCH ACADEMY FILM STUDIOS
Kieth Merrill and Linda Stewart form new partnership to
lead the next phase of convergence of cinematic and
television experiences in the 21st century Internet economy
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SALT LAKE CITY, UT, NEW YORK CITY, NY and LOS ANGELES, CA — April 17, 2013 — World-renowned Directors, Trustees and Executives of the Academy of Science and Arts (http://AcademyOfScienceAndArts.org) today announced the formation of Academy Film Studios (http://academyfilmstudios.org/). The primary U.S. contact phone number, Powered by ManyOne, is live now at 855-775-7774. The international contact number is 480-522-1025.
“The digital revolution has empowered content creators with ubiquitous access to the digital tools and technologies. Whatever we can ‘see’ in our minds, we can put on the screen. And the size and location of those screens has changed in radical ways. The new economy of the Internet has the power to provide producers with independent funding for productions, a means of monetizing their products and access to a global network of exhibition and distribution, if they know how to get there. We are making that long-held hope a firm reality, beginning in Hollywood and NewYork City,” said Kieth Merrill, Oscar Award winning Producer and Director, and Managing Partner, Academy Film Studios.
Renowned executive producer and Managing Partner Linda Stewart stated, “The focus of the production and content teams at Academy Film Studios is to create heart-pumping, mind-expanding, epic and epochal experiences for audiences worldwide. Among the finest talents across the intersection of cinema, television, web, and app canvases have joined forces with pioneers of Internet technologies and economics. Academy Studios is the bridge to the future of creative cloud production of breakthrough media in the 21st century economy.” “We have worked together for more than a decade on this remarkable alliance, and I am honored to work with my colleagues around the world to help catalyze an economic, education, and social renaissance for the 21st Century,” added Joseph P. Firmage, Founder and CEO of the Academy of Science and Arts.
Further information about the plans and programs of Academy Film Studios will be available in late April and early May, 2013, at http://AcademyFilmStudios.org. Further biographical information of the Board of Directors and Advisors are provided below.
